CLEAN WATER ACT AND POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM

The Clean Water Act regulates discharge of pollutants from facilities such as factories and municipal sewage systems. It also accounts for discharges from non-point sources such as runoff from construction sites, roads, parking lots and farmlands. The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) require permits for all pollutants that are discharged into or may make there way into surface or groundwater.

Federal, State and local permits, especially those dealing with wastewater, can be complicated, time consuming and require a certified professional's signature. ESPL will expatiate the process by performing all necessary tests and accruing and tabulating all required information.
